So a really common question that I get about orlando is how do people get around what's? The public transportation like is there a lot of traffic spoiler alert there's, a lot of traffic sometimes it's, really not that bad.

But anyways, come on in let's have a chat we'll.

Talk about it I'm.

Dan geneter, a real estate agent with wyker realtors, real estate can be confusing, but I can assist you so let's chat for a few minutes about orlando real estate.

Hey, everyone I'm.

Dan gnader with white curt, realtors, hallmark properties, I'm in orlando, florida, winter park.

How is the public transportation? How do people get around what's the deal? The way I describe it is orlando is pretty spread out.

I kind of look at it as kind of like la on a smaller scale.

Orlando is a tri-county area.

Orlando is osceola.

County, seminole county.

And then orange county is the bulk of orlando and that's.

Actually where orlando is orlando is in orange county.

So with orlando being spread out like it is most people do have cars in orlando, there's, one main highway that gets you basically from the east to the west side, um and kind of north to south it's, sort of a weird, uh angle, but it and it's called I-4.

And right now there's a lot of uh construction on I-4 it's supposed to be done.

Uh, sometime in next year.

2021.

There can be a lot of traffic on I-4, um, you know during rush hour times, but it's, not like a place like la or atlanta, where there's just traffic anytime like once you get on I-4 it's, just going to be jam-packed it's, not like that it's really just during rush hour.

And then if there's there's an accident, that's, what will really slow I-4 down? Then we have a number of toll roads as well.

And those will as far as I know, will always be toll roads.

I've heard from people from other places where sometimes there will be like a new road and it'll have tolls in the beginning.

And then they'll take the tolls out after, you know, they make x amount of money or something like that.

These tools are are here to stay.

The bus system is called lynx l-y-n-x and it's like a like a lynx tiger or cat or whatever and so you'll, see in orlando, um, the bus stops, and they have like a little circle and a paw on it.

And then that that's how you know that you're at a lynx bus station, the lynx bus.

I think like most bus systems, um, you know, can be laid and things like that.

I used the lynx bus system, exclusively, um, when I was quite young younger.

So it was in the in the 90s and early 2000s.

And back then, um, you know it wasn't.

They weren't necessarily on time.

Um, the weekend hours are different they're spread out a bit.

Um, it has gotten a little bit better.

I have a friend who used the lynx bus system for a few years before he got a car recently, and he had similar issues that I did.

But it sounded like it is a little bit better, but ultimately it's still a bus and has, you know, the issues that a bus is gonna have where you know, it's, just not gonna be on time.

There can be an accident.

You know, so it's gonna slow things down because orlando is so spread out the way it is a lot of times you're gonna have to take if you're going from one side of orlando to the other you're gonna have to take a uh, you're, gonna have to take two buses.

And the way that works is typically you have to go downtown.

And then from downtown, you go to wherever you're going that can really add to your time.

So you know, a 30 minute car ride can be about an hour and a half up to even two hour bus ride.

But if you are staying kind of in the same area, if you live and work in the same area, the lynx bus system is something that you could look at.

You know, you just want to make sure that you're near a bus station, basically.

So you want to be kind of near a main road so you're able to walk over there, and then wherever you're going as long as it's again, kind of near a main road you.

You could definitely just ride the bus and and not have a car in orlando.

We also have a commuter rail it's called the sun rail.

And it basically is like parallel to I-4 from my understanding.

The reason why they made it was basically before they were going to do this massive overhaul of i4.

They wanted to uh have another way that people could get from wherever they were going basically to downtown.

I don't personally ride it, but I have a couple friends who do, and they haven't had too many problems with it.

Um, having delays if there is like an accident, or you know something on one of the rail systems, something like that you will have slow downs, but that's, not every day something to realize about the sunrail, though is it really is just for commuters in a lot of ways.

So it doesn't really run on the weekends too much.

And it runs during like peak hours like every 20, 30 minutes, um, but beyond that, I think it's like every hour or two it really slows down a bit.

So if you work downtown or somewhere, right off of the sun rail that can be a really good option for you to use at most sunrail stations.

They have pretty big parking lots.

Most sun rail stations are new.

They they've been built specifically for to be a sunrail station.

Um one that's, not is the winter park.

One, the winter park.

One, um is also an amtrak station.

And that parking lot can get pretty busy in orlando.

We have quite a bit of uh bike trails and bike lanes.

The bike trails, uh, some of them are really nice and I'll do another video specifically on the different bike trails that we have and they're they're kind of all over.

They will connect to each other a lot of times either directly.

Or if you you know, keep on going a mile or two, um on regular roads, then you'll get to the the bike trail.

Then another thing we have in orlando.

And this is specifically more in like the downtown area, lake baldwin, um and probably out in like I drive like the disney.

Tourist area.

They have those electric scooters.

They've kind of like taken over like at least downtown.

We have a bunch of different electric scooter companies.

I personally don't like them, just because they kind of get in the way of like the sidewalk when you're trying to walk at everything.

And sometimes they can get into the street and things like that if they fall down, but it is a good alternative.

I think that for most people, if you had a car wherever you lived before most likely you're going to want to have a car in orlando, you'd probably want to keep it it's, not inherently like walker, friendly bike friendly.

You know, bus rider friendly, if you have any other questions or comments, please leave them in the comments section below also feel free to call text me email me whatever works best for you.

Thanks for watching I'll talk to you later.
